The software has been designed as general program for security cross platforms running all together with wireless and wired IP cameras, TV-cards, capture cards, power-line, and USB webcams. It has web interface with the identical appearance and controls on the local and remote workstations. Users watch MPEG-4 coded picture and have complete control of the software using network that surveillance station can be operated with no screen, keyboard, and mouse connected. Software`s modular configuration considerably improves reliability because all units work as autonomous software. If one component stops working, other components keep on running. For instance if the `record` part freezes, `watchdog` restarts it right away that viewers don`t notice anything because they are watching picture via a `playback` component. The program performs `repeated` recording that the `disk full` situation never happens. The recording can be constant or it can be triggered by movement, human face recognition, or by timetable. The program has pre-alarm and post-alarm recording. Playing back recorded video is pretty simple and performs on the surveillance station as well as on remote pc through Web interface. The program does simultaneous video playback for event analysis from multiple webcams simultaneously. Also recorded information can be searched by date, time or by face detected. All recorded information can be encrypted and password protected.
